Mageia 2 was released 2 weeks ago. The QA and security teams are working hard to fix bugs and provide security updates. It’s time now to think about our next release: no rest for the Brave!

Podríais empaquetar la última versión de este GUI para el antivirus clamav. Esta versión 4.41 está disponible para otras distribuciones pero no para Mageia/Mandriva.

Tras algo de trabajo, podemos anunciar que los paquetes en el repositorio de blogdrake ya cuentan con firma digital.

Debido a esto les pedimos que aquellos que cuenten con mageia2 (de momento solo esta versión es la que cuenta con paquetes firmados) nos ayuden a determinar si todo funciona como se espera.

Following previous blog post, Mageia 2 has been updated using original design of pr09studio. New isos have been built, tested and uploaded in public repositories.

Torrent files were also rebuilt.

So please, seeders, update your torrents by removing the old .torrent files (but dont remove the already downloaded data), and download the new .torrent files and your torrent client will resync by downloading only the changed parts.

Hola comunidad, leyendo en la web la forma correcta de instalar jdownloader me entere que tenia que instalar java así que me puse a instalarlo, baje el software de la pagina oficial de java seguí la instrucciones y cuando se va a empezar a instalar me aperase el siguiente error:

error: db_fini:db3.c:583: dbenv->close(-30973): DB_RUNRECOVERY: Fatal error, run database recovery

También lo intente con este comando: urpmi java-1.6.0-sun pero me manda el mismo error!

Del cual buscando en la web no encuentro nada, espero que alguien me pueda ayudar de antemano GRACIAS!

Revised release schedule for Mageia 2

After some discussions between the Mageia Council and the Packagers’ team, we’ve decided to make some changes to the Mageia 2 release schedule.

There are a couple of reasons for this, the main one being that we feel that the list of important bugs still remaining to be solved needs more time and attention before we release.

The bugs mostly relate to the systemd/dracut migration, and changes needed in the installer and drakxtools.

elected, so it was time to re-elect one-third as required by the Mageia
statutes.

Michael Scherer and Wolfgang Bornath have both resigned from their
board positions. We thank them both for their great work, and wish them
well. After their resignations, we had two positions to fill.

Following the election, we welcome Nicolas Vigier and Oliver Burger
to the Mageia board.

The past months, Mageia has been hard at work getting Alpha and Beta releases out for our upcoming release Mageia 2. With Beta 2 out of the door, and the release candidate on the way, it is time to reflect for a moment on our current situation.

A lot of hard work has been done by a lot of people. Developers, QA & and triaging teams, and not in the least beta testers have worked hard to improve our distribution to the best of our abilities and to ensure that Mageia 2 will become a release for everyone to enjoy.

Si lo prueban presten atención a ponerlo a pantalla completa. (Full Screen).

A mi me va bien a pantalla completa pero a otro packager le pega un segmentation failed cuando lo pone.

Hola.

Quería preguntar si se podría crear una sección nueva en el foro que se llame 'noticias' para poder ir metiendo en ella las noticias que vayan saliendo sobre Mandriva y Mageia.

Por ejemplo, antes he puesto en el foro de soporte técnico el anuncio de que ya está disponible Mageia 2 beta 1 para testear pero no me parece que esté bien puesto ahí. He estado mirando pero no sabía bien dónde colocarlo y crear una entrada en mi blog para hacer ese anuncio me parecía un poco excesivo ya que creo que el blog está para crear artículos más extensos y/o documentación y tutoriales.

Yo creo que más de una persona se ha enterado, pero igual deseo comunicar que ya la versión de VLC 2.0 está disponible en binarios ejecutables para güindous y OSX, y que también hay un paquete fuente que asumo es posible de empaquetar. En la página principal de videolan, la organización que mantiene y desarrolla VLC, están las posibles formas actuales de descarga.

Por cuestiones educativas sobre el Fedora Directory Server, me surgió un interrogante; deseo saber si es posible instalar el Mandriva Directory server en Mageia 2, si pueden hacer el favor de darme el enlace para la configuración del mismo (no lo he instalado ni configurado antes).
Lo anterior ya que de este modo puedo enfocar algunos alumnos sobre la distro Mageia 2.

Por si acaso..... si se que en Mandriva se instala y configura sin problemas... la pregunta es sobre Mageia 2.

Me baje una live cd de Mandriva y cuando lo meto en mi portatil me sale pantalla de live cd o instalar, elijo live cd. Cuando ya debe arrancar el SO me aparecen unas barras finas verticales de colores y ahí queda la cosa. He probado esta copia en otros portatiles y pcs y va correctamente. Mi portatil es un intel core i3 comprado en enero de 2011. Tiene 500 gb de almacenamiento es un Samgsun con grafica ati. Con otras distros no pasa: Ubuntu, Opensuse, Pardus...
