Blogdrake recomienda descargar las imágenes de instalación (iso) vía torrent para evitar corrupción de datos, aprovechar mejor su ancho de banda y mejorar la difusión de las distribuciones.
Problemas activar resolución 1920x1080 con nVidia GeForce 7100
Muy buenas,
Acabo de actualizarme a Mandriva 2010.1 y me acabo de encontrar un problema; no puedo activar la resolución 1920x1080 con drivers propietarios de nvidia (tengo una targeta GeForce 7100) con un monitor HP 2310i. Alguien se topó con este problema? Lo curioso es que en Mandriva 2009.1 funcionaba perfectamente. Alguna sugerencia?

Tu monitor no soporta esas frecuencias, leete el manual del monitor y elimina (pon delante un #) los modelines no soportados:
Segun creo, a maxima resolucion, la maxima frecuencia soportada pos ese manitor es 60, y estoy viendo frecuencias de 75, 85, 100, 120, claramente perjudiciales para tu monitor.

Lo que hago es entrar como administrador en la carpeta /etc/X11 y hago una copia al fichero xorg.conf
Aunque nvidia-settings creo que ya te hace una copia de seguridad del fichero.
Me voy a la opción que pone X Server Display Configuration
Y allí aparece el monitor con sus configuraciones por defecto. Simplemente miro que todo esté bien y ya está. Pincho en Save to X Configuration file y listo.
La verdad es que nvidia-settings está muy bien para configurar dos monitores e incluso un monitor y un televisor HD.
Puedes elegir dónde va el segundo monitor- televisor (izquierda, derecha, arriba o abajo del principal).
Yo tengo la configuración TwinView para los dos monitores. La resolución no la tengo en Automático sino en 1920x1200 (la del monitor principal) y la frecuencia la he dejado en Auto.
Al tener dos monitores me aparece la opción de elegir qué monitor sea el primario.
En fin, que nvidia-settings está muy bien.
