A fresh install is always preferred over a system upgrade. Always, always, always.

The Qt update that's currently running will break KDE and LXQt until rebuilds are done (shouldn't take more than a day or two).
But when the qt5-qtbase build is published, it's better to hold off on updating cooker until related builds are done.
