In Mageia/cauldron/x86_64: cmus is a powerful music player with an ncurses UI. It supports many different file types like FLAC, Ogg/Vorbis, etc. and is able to handle play lists.

In Mageia/cauldron/i586: QPDF is a command-line program that does structural, content-preserving transformations on PDF files. It could have been called something like pdf-to-pdf. It includes support for merging and splitting PDFs and to manipulate the list of pages in a PDF file. It is not a PDF viewer or a program capable of converting PDF into other formats.

In Mageia/cauldron/x86_64: Mutter is a window and compositing manager that displays and manages your desktop via OpenGL. Mutter combines a sophisticated display engine using the Clutter toolkit with solid window-management logic inherited from the Metacity window manager. While Mutter can be used stand-alone, it is primarily intended to be used as the display core of a larger system such as GNOME Shell. For this reason, Mutter is very extensible via plugins, which are used both to add fancy visual effects and to rework the window management behaviors to meet the needs of the environment.

Weston has various backends that lets it run on Linux kernel modesetting and evdev input as well as under X11. There is also a quite capable terminal emulator (weston-terminal) and an toy/example desktop shell. Finally, Weston also provides integration with the Xorg server and can pull X clients into the Wayland desktop and act as a X window manager.

Limnoria is a project which continues development of Supybot (you can call it a fork) by fixing bugs and adding features (see the list of added features for more details).

In Mageia/cauldron/x86_64: MAME stands for Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. When used in conjunction with an arcade game's data files (ROMs), MAME will more or less faithfully reproduce that game on a PC. The ROM images that MAME utilizes are "dumped" from arcade games' original circuit-board ROM chips. MAME becomes the "hardware" for the games, taking the place of their original CPUs and support chips. Therefore, these games are NOT simulations, but the actual, original games that appeared in arcades. MAME's purpose is to preserve these decades of video-game history. As gaming technology continues to rush forward, MAME prevents these important "vintage" games from being lost and forgotten. This is achieved by documenting the hardware and how it functions, thanks to the talent of programmers from the MAME team and from other contributors. Being able to play the games is just a nice side-effect, which doesn't happen all the time. MAME strives for emulating the games faithfully.
